VRMedApp collaborates with the VA hospital in San Diego under funded DOE research to develop an application that incorporates VR with our proprietary body motion sensors and software platform to relieve phantom limb pain in veterans with missing limbs in a phase I-II clinical trial led by Dr. Thomas Rutledge.
MANAGEMENT OF CHEMO-BRAIN
VRMedApp is working with cancer doctors to conduct clinical trial using VR to control "chemo-brain" in cancer patients, who experience cognitive function decline, fatigue and depression with cancer treatment.
During daily radiation treatment, patients needs to be set up as close to the reference position as possible. VRMedApp develops a patent-pending application with body sensors to make sure that your patient is positioned in the same way as they were during the planning process. Interactive games will keep patients distracted and relaxed during the treatment. The system can be used to avoid use of general anesthesia in children undergoing radiation therapy. (link here)
Another application is for patient-controlled breathing to reduce the tumor motion during the radiation treatment (Deep-Inspiration Breath Hold) to improve targeting the tumor and to reduce collateral radiation damage to healthy surrounding organs.
Stroke or trauma patients who need to undergo physical or occupational therapy require multiple sessions over a very long period of time. Either the patient has to go to the clinic or the therapist has to go the the patient's home. With our patented pending platform, we can improve the rehabilitation by allowing the patients to have it done at home with exact specifications from the therapy program. The program has biofeedback of heart rate and oxygen saturation sensor to adjust the intensity of the therapy.
